Fiesty One | A Mishap

"Are you sure about this?" Alice called to Keri from across the arena.
"Ya! It'll be fine!" Keri assured the other staff member, watching steadily as the black stallion bolted around the arena in front of her. The cloudy weather and strong winds made the already mental horse even more deranged. 
"Well.. I mean.. Is it safe? Would Tide want y-"
"Tide isn't here! If he wants to go play army soldier than fine, but he can't rule a life he walked out on!" The brunette snapped abruptly, the tips of her ears turning red with irritation.
Alice quickly threw her hands up in defense, "woah, woah! Okay.... Sooo how many months along are you?" She gestured to Keriana's swelled stomach, hastily trying to change the subject.
"I'm nearing four months." Keri looked down with a prideful smile, resting her hands on her stomach before spinning around just in time to jump out of the approaching stallions way. "HA! He's a fiesty one!" Keri squealed with excitement, chasing after Sparta to get him running again in the hopes his energy would wear thin soon. 
"Right.. " Alice shook her head, giggling quietly when the stallion flashed Keri a weird look, "well, be careful. They told us he can crafty when it comes to ridding himself of handlers. " 
"Alice please, I trained Cheveyo to be a good boy, didn't I?" Keri flashed her a radiant smile.
"Yeah yeah yeah, don't get too cocky there." Alice teased.
"Ha, O.K."

After standing there for a few moments, it appeared that Keri had everything under control for the time being. Besides, she had trained three horses in the year and a half she had been at the stable so Alice wasn't very worried about her being left alone. Waving goodbye, Alice turned and made her way down the road in the direction of the main barn to fetch one of her own horses. She was just opening the door and welcoming the warmth of the heated barn when she unexpectedly heard a deafening cry split the air, coming from the outdoor arena. Immediately, she bolted back up the hill to find Keri on the ground doubled over in pain. "What happened?!" The blonde woman screeched. 
"He kicked me-" Keri rasped in pain, stopping short when she looked down at her breeches; blood leaking heavily from them, "No No NO NOO!!!" Keri wailed. 
Alice took notice of the blood in an instance, jumping the fence and sprinting over to her friends side. "ZACH!!" Alice screamed while holding onto the now hysterical Keriana.
"No no no not my baby! Oh my GOD NO!! MY CHILD!!" The brunette woman cried, her distressed sobs being heard from every corner of FDS. 
"Shhh, shh, deep breaths. I'm going to take you down to the barn to get cleaned up. Zach will catch Sparta, okay?" Alice was trying her best to remain level-headed as she lifted Keri to her feet.
"Oh my god, my baby.. my poor baby..." Keri continued to wail, clinging even more desperately to Alice with every sob. 
During all of this the black stallion stood at the other end of the ring, in a rigid and defensive pose with his head raised in defiance. His eyes burned like a growing fire, and you could even speculate that he was smirking. He was fully aware that he had injured the fragile human. 

"Keri?? Are you okay??" Alice knocked on the door to the barn's bathroom tentatively. Not hearing a response, she gradually opened the door. The poor woman was still sitting in the corner, shaking and crying with a blanket wrapped tightly around her. "I'm so sorry.." Alice whispered, sitting down next to Keriana.
"You don't understand.. my husband had been wanting another kid for a while.. and we were both so overjoyed to find out I was pregnant.." Keri's bottom lip began to tremble again and she quickly covered her face with her hands. "What am I supposed to do now?! How am I supposed to tell him that I lost our baby?!" She sobbed. 
Alice didn't really know what to tell her troubled friend, so she just leaned over and hugged her. Some time passed before she finally broke away. 
"Zach caught Sparta for you.. I don't know how I me-"
"I don't care about Sparta! I never want to see that horse again!" Keri screeched. 
"You can't just give up on the him!"
"He caused me to miscarriage, Alice.. and you expect me to just forgive the stallion?" 
"He's an animal, Keri, he doesn't understand what kicking you resulted in."
"I don't care!" Keri looked absolutely miserable. "I just want to see Tala.. and.. I want Tide back!" She erupted into tears at her last words. If only she knew in a matter of weeks she'd get the worst call of her life.

Ooh the drama.
I'm an evil being. I actually felt so horrible writing that because it was kinda fun drawing Keri preggers.
btw I s2g if you still don't know what's happening to Tide I'm done. 
oh and I did a skeleton trace for sparta aah don't kill me it was a really hard pose. ;w;
